Young at Heart parade float, 35mm color slide (photographer unknown) These 21 colorful slides provide a wonderful record of many of North Tonawanda's (and the area's) social institutions. Floats and flags from several fire companies, local bands, the NT high school marching band, Sikora Post, Amvets, Durez, and even Burger King are pictured. The Native American costumes of the so-called International Order of Red Men, Swift Water Tribe 585 are another highlight. The photos are taken from the corner of Christiana and Payne, facing mostly east. The Church of the Nazarene is visible in many of the backgrounds, and an unkempt-looking Sweeney Cemetery can be glimpsed in one of the Scottish drum-and-pipe band photos.
