Title

NaT mascot, Bicentennial Celebration, photos and illustration (1976).jpg

Description

At one time a strange and horrible beast stalked this land, "NaT," a grotesque parody of a lumberjack with a colonial tricorn hat on its giant head and a hauntingly vacant expression on its plaster face. In every photo the terror on others' faces is plain. Proportions that appear whimsical and even charming in sketches can easily become monstrous when translated into three dimensions. What happened to NaT is unknown, but it is gone, and it is safe to hope this much for the poor creature: that its suffering ended when ours did.
