to form a permanent Parish and to have a resident Minister.
The Reverend Fredk. W. Peabody, Deacon, commenced his duties
as such on the 1st day of January A.D. 1869.
The ordination service at Washington Hall was solemnized
and appropriately arranged for holding the services of the Church.
The first service was held in the morning of Sunday the 24th day
of January; the Rector and Assistant Minister officiating.
On Wednesday the 3rd day of February, the persons who met and
incorporated themselves as a Parish to be known in law as the Rector,
Churchwardens and Vestrymen of St. Mark’s Church, Tonawanda,
Erie County, N.Y.
The certificate of incorporation was filed and on the following day
was registered in the book of Records, Erie County, N.Y., at Lockport,
in Liber \_\_\_\_\_.
